The University of Florida Levin College of Law Journal of Law and Public Policy will sponsor a symposium on Gun Violence, Law, Politics, and Policy on April 8, 2019 from 12pm to 3:30 pm.
Distinguished panelists, including Darrell A.H. Miller of Duke Law, Nelson Lund of Scalia Law School, Jennifer Carlson, Ph.D. of the University of Arizona, Gary Kleck, Ph.D. of Florida State University, Shani Buggs, Ph.D. of the University of California – Davis, James Shepperd, Ph.D. of the University of Florida, Marie Crandall, M.D. of the University of Florida, and Jeffrey Swanson, Ph.D. of Duke University will address the legal, policy, and political aspects of gun control and gun violence. Participants in the symposium will address the complexity of these issues, focusing on legal constraints and efficacy of various gun control measures, public health issues related to gun violence, and the politics of gun control debates.
