Professor Anita Ramasastry (University of Washington School of Law) presented today on Business and Human Rights Treaty as part of UW Law’s Global_Mondays Series. She discussed the proposal being debated at the UN Human Rights Council for a binding treaty on transnational corporations and human rights.

Professor Ramasastry is the Faculty Director of International, Transnational and Comparative Law and she an expert in the field of business and human rights. She is the Dean Emeritus Ronald Hjorth Professor of Law at the University of Washington and Director of the Sustainable International Development LLM Program. Ramasastry is currently a member of the United Nations Working Group on Business and Human Rights, and serves as independent expert appointed to the UN Human Rights Council. She is also a commissioner of the Lichtenstein Financial Sector Commission to Combat Human Trafficking, co-chair of the expert panel on the Corporate Crime Principles, and advises numerous organizations on responsible business conduct.
