(FIDE stands for Fédération Internationale pour le Droit Européen—the International Federation for European Law.)

The prestigious FIDE Congress gathers renowned representatives from academia and judges from the Court of Justice of the European Union, national supreme courts and other courts, as well as officials and lawyers. The XXVI FIDE Congress focuses on three topics of great public interest, which are treated in separate workshops:
1) The Economic and Monetary Union: Constitutional and Institutional Aspects of the Economic Governance within the EU.
2) Union Citizenship: Development, Impact and Challenges.
3) Public Procurement Law: Limitations, Opportunities and Paradoxes.

Furthermore, a panel consisting of judges from selected European juridical institutions and leading academics will debate the relationship between the EU, national and international courts, and the interplay of the multiple sources of law in an era of legal pluralism.
