The UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law hosts the 5th Annual John Mercer Langston Writing Workshop July 10-12, 2014 (Thursday evening reception through Saturday). The deadline for submitting abstracts is March 11, 2014.
This workshop is intended for tenured or tenure-track black male legal academicians wishing to present a substantial preliminary draft of their scholarship in a supportive environment. Past presenters have successfully placed their work in well-regarded law journals . . ..
As workshop space is limited to 35 attendees, you are strongly encouraged to register as early as possible.
There are 12 spaces for works-in-progress that will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Those wishing to present a work-in-progress should send a detailed abstract of no more than 4 pages to Charlton Copeland at ccopeland@law.miami.edu and Areto Imoukhuede at imoukhuedea@nsu.law.nova.edu. The cut-off date for receipt of abstracts is March 11. Those wishing to serve as commentators on papers should notify Professors Copeland and Imoukhuede by the same date.
The host hotel for workshop attendees will be the Luxor Las Vegas. You may reserve rooms online here or by calling 702-262-4450 and mentioning group code UNLV14P. You are encouraged to do this as early as possible. There will be a daily shuttle from the hotel to the Boyd School of Law and back.
