While visual culture in our society in general has significantly grown in impact, and due to digitalisation is unlikely to be at its return, the visual is highly absent in legal education” commented Tom Barkhuysen in the Dutch Lawyer’s Magazine (Nederlands Juristenblad) in September 2017. He provides direction for the ambition: “At a minimum, students should learn what is available in this field and should develop insight in the added value of visualisation tools. Also, legal education should address visualisation skills at a basic level.”
