The Asper Chair of International Business and Trade Law extends an invite to all graduate students, academics, and practitioners to its International Business and Trade Law (INTLaw) Conference on February 14th & 15th at the Inn at the Forks hotel in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The invitation extends to those interested in business and other related disciplines as well as law.
We aim to have lively discussions on innovative topics in international economics, business, and trade law (including e-commerce). This year, we hope to receive papers on Blockchain Technology, Freedom of Expression and the Internet, and the United States Mexico Canada Agreement (new NAFTA). We welcome, however, papers in all areas relevant to our mandate.
A major focus is to provide a forum for graduate students, early-career academics, experienced scholars, and practitioners to present their work. If approved, papers may be published in the Asper Review of International Business and Trade Law, a peer-reviewed annual publication. The Asper Review is long established and well-regarded: among Canadian Law Journals it is ranked eighth overall, third among specialized journals, and first in the area of international trade law. It is ranked seventh in the world in peer-reviewed or refereed international trade law journals (Washington and Lee University annual survey).
PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE :Those who wish to present their research are asked to send an abstract or a draft paper to asperreview@gmail.com no later than January 20, 2019. All approved presenters will receive speaking time and meals. Travel and accommodation expenses may be available to conference participants who present a potentially publishable conference presentation. These need not be particularly lengthy as long as they are cogent and submitted no later than the conference. For those who cannot attend the conference, we still welcome Asper Review submissions by May 31, 2019.
Please note that the use of this subsidy is being offered on the condition that the Asper Review has a right of first refusal for any publication arising out of conference presentations. Student presenters are expected to obtain support for their transportation costs from the institution they are attending. However, if this is not feasible, the conference committee will consider providing a subsidy (on application of up to $600).
ATTENDANCE: We invite all interested in attending to do so at no registration fee! Please contact us at asperreview@gmail.com to reserve your seat. If you could also please pass on the following invitation to both your graduate students and your colleagues, it would be greatly appreciated.
