The Villanova Law Institute to Address Commercial Sexual Exploitation presents a symposium entitled “Commercial Sexual Exploitation: Engaging the Survivor Community in Advocacy, Healing and Criminal Justice” on March 9-10, 2017 at the Charles Widger School of Law.
Police, prosecutors and communities in the United States are experiencing a transformation in the way they view commercial sexual exploitation, and these shifting perspectives are affecting law enforcement’s response to prostitution and sex trafficking.
This two-day conference brings together the professional community to engage with the survivor community. It is only through input and collaboration that survivor leaders, and their professional allies – law enforcement, attorneys, social workers, judges, legislators – can learn to be effective in combatting commercial sexual exploitation.
