The organizers of Race + IP and MOSAIC: Diverse Voices in IP Scholarship are excited to announce that the Third Annual MOSAIC Conference will take place in collaboration with Race + IP at Boston College April 20–22, 2017. Abstracts are due Jan. 31, 2017.

The organizers are planning MOSAIC discussions which will engage the following themes:

Pedagogy: A discussion of pedagogical approaches to intellectual property that promote progressive values and, more specifically, the role of intellectual property in racial justice. We expect to discuss materials and strategies that can be deployed in teaching intellectual property with racial justice in mind and to provide guidance to teachers of intellectual property doctrine in choosing materials and addressing the challenges of teaching IP through a racial justice lens.

Recent Books: A conversation about book-length treatments of issues at the intersection of Race + IP published since 2014. We welcome participation by any author(s) of such a book or anyone willing to provide a review.

Incubator: A discussion of early stage works-in-progress at the intersection of IP and race. The goal is to engage with works in the earliest stages in order to assist the authors in moving these projects toward completion and publication.  Please note that participation as a discussant does not require a completed paper. In fact, the organizers envision a mini-TEDTalk style format.

Please send abstracts for consideration by January 31, 2017, and direct any questions to Lateef Mtima at lmtima@iipsj.org or Deidré Keller at d-keller.1@onu.edu.
