Call for Proposals on Experiential Learning in Legal Writing Programs; scheduled for Thursday, January 5, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

This panel will explore topics related to the recent changes to the ABA standards on experiential learning and how those standards relate to the legal writing curriculum.  Panelists might explore one or more of the following topics: (1) how current legal writing curricula fit within the ABA standards; (2) curricular innovations in legal writing, such as expanding legal writing options beyond the first year, collaborating with doctrinal or clinical faculty, etc.; and (3) how legal writing faculty can use the ABA standards to advocate for themselves and their programs within their institutions.   Panelists may propose other related topics as well.

Please submit your proposal by email to Mary Bowman, Program Committee Co-Chair, at bowmanm1@seattleu.edu.  Please use Microsoft Word or the equivalent, but do not use PDF.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mary at the email address above or at 206.398.4019.

The program length is one hour and forty-five minutes.  We would like to see a mix of legal writing and non-legal writing presenters in this session.  Your proposal can cover the entire time period with other presenters, or you can propose to cover a specific part of the panel discussion for a designated amount of time, and the LWRR Section Program Committee can put together the full panel.
