From Magna Carta to the Montgomery March – Montgomery, AL

Faulkner Law Review presents From Magna Carta to the Montgomery March: The Career of Rights in the Anglo-American Legal Tradition on September 11-12, 2014. The conference will explore the question what it means to have a right which does not owe its existence entirely to law, and which law should enforce and respect. It will trace the history and development of the idea of rights from Magna Carta, through the common law, the American founding, the movement for civil and voting rights which began here in Montgomery, Alabama, a half century ago, to today.

Deadline: The Faulkner Law Review invites abstracts and proposals for panel presentations, written versions of which will be included in a special published issue in the fall. Abstracts of 150 to 200 words should be accompanied by a CV and submitted no later than May 20, 2014. For more information, contact EditorinChief[@]faulkner.edu. im
