The Law and Society Association has announced a call for short essays from junior scholars on the following topic:
What is the future of socio-legal studies, what new possibilities exist, and what innovations should the Law and Society Association consider as it enters the 2nd Half-Century?
Essays are limited to 2000 words. The competition is open to graduate students, post-docs, and assistant professors (or people in equivalent entry level academic positions). The five winning essays will be posted on the LSA Website and their authors will be invited to participate in a special 50th Anniversary Roundtable at the Law and Society 2014 Annual Meeting in Minneapolis. Winning authors will also receive travel support to attend the meeting, conference registration, and a one year membership to the Law and Society Association.
Submissions are due Dec. 30, 2013. Details here.
