Teaching Research Skills to Law Students—London, UK

The Higher Education Academy presents Teaching Research Skills to Law Students: A Workshop on Best Practice Feb. 5, 2014, at the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies.

Rosemary Auchmuty and Jules Winterton are running a workshop on Teaching Research Skills to Law Students. . . . The workshop will share and explore ways in which, working together, law librarians and law teachers may deliver legal research skills in ways that students will perceive as relevant and will be able to apply throughout their studies. It will also share and explore ways of establishing better dialogue between law librarians and law teachers to harness their complementary skills and encourage collaboration.

To this end, Rosemary is soliciting case studies of collaborations between law teachers and law librarians in the delivery of research skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students, to be presented to participants in 30-minute slots, conference-style (i.e. 20 minutes of presentation and 10 minutes of questions and discussion). If you would like to contribute a case study, please contact Rosemary at r.auchmuty@reading.ac.uk.

Even if you don’t have a case study to contribute, you are invited to participate – see details here. The workshop is free.
